Bio: At age 4, most children are learning how to play together. D-Manas he’s known was learning how to knock out others. Derrick Colemon, Jr., was born, raised and began his boxing journey in Detroit. Like many others, personal life challenges tried to knock him out. But his mental and physical strength pushed him to keep moving forward despite the odds. Colemon never turned to drugs, the streets or crime. He is addicted to boxing.

The young Colemon spent the crucial beginning years of trainingunder the legendary Emmanuel Stewart at Kronk gym. He envisioned himself following in the footsteps of the greats - Emanuel Stewart, Tommy Hearns and Mayweather! Then he began and continues to learn their formula for success.

In his corner since 2007, Marlon Thomas, trainer, has kept him on an intensive professional training regimen. Colemon eats healthy, doesn’t smoke, drink or party, he is a trainer’s dream. ToColemon boxing is his life, his job, his means. Five days a week his training regimen includes boxing, sparring, strengthening, conditioning and running 30-40 miles. The weekend is not reserved for rest and relaxation. You will find him doing an open workout, which includes laps in the pool at the neighborhood fitness center.
